Following is a intresting statistical review of my 2006 season:
38 races (16 XC, 12 Marathon, 8 Short Track, 2 Road Races)
Only XC and Marathon counting together: 13 Wins, 6x second, I finished every race top 10 except Marathon Worlds (mechanical) and Swisspower Bern (mental problem )
I rode 18,000km on the mountain and road bike together, that means 690hrs saddle time. 65% of it must be mt-biking time.
For other sports -running, gym, snowshoe walking etc.- 110hrs.
All in all I was sporty active on average 2.10hrs per day, during the whole year.
210 full days away from home. Almost 60% of the year.
41 flights. 17 of them were long haul ones, that means around 10hrs flights
20 time zones where I spent more than a day in it.
Around 100 massages. (Many thanks to our team soigneur Clair, so as Bruno who looks after my legs at home, and François my south african soigneur.
This year I got 4 Mountain Bikes, 4 Road Bikes (Tarmac for training, Allez with SmartKranks, Allez with fenders and Roubaix with SRM for training/racing), 2 Freeriders (one Enduro Alu, one Enduro Carbon)
I used around 80-100 tires at the races and at home. Sure, not all got worn down. Most of them are now being used by kids until they are fully gone.
Also I have used 30-40 chains, many hundreds of Sponser energy gels, but only about 20 Energy bars.
During training I hardly eat, and in races I have energy gel only.
I hope all of you get very nice Christmas presents, eat good food and be nice together
Merry Christmas, happy new year and many more to come!
Thanks for reading my diray!
