He’s got a fever and it’s continuing to rise. He’s not in the condition to start a bike race."The doctor had an early call from him to say that he had to throw up. He had difficulty getting back to sleep and then he couldn’t eat his breakfast. The fever is developing more and more."We waited until the last moment. Of course, for any bike rider they don’t want to leave the Tour de France early. Michael contributed a lot to the team and he wouldn’t want to stop himself but the doctor has made the decision that he’s not in the state to start and Michael himself realises that."</blockquote>
