"But it's not enough just to be strong. You have to be able to transfer the power onto the track." The one hour world record currently stands at 49.7 km, set by Czech rider Ondrej Sosenka in Moscow on 19 July 2005. When taking his title in Ticino, Cancellara had an hourly average of 51.58 km/h. According to the Italian newspaper "Tuttosport", there is already an invitation for the one hour world record attempt. Montichiari near Brescia wants to tempt Cancellara onto its 250 m wooden track, opened in May.</blockquote>
