The computer will display energy consumption in default Kcal. When someone has cycled for 10 minutes with an output of 200 watt, the energy consumption will be 200 watt = 200 Joule/second x 600 seconds (10 minutes) = 120.000 Joule = 120 Kjoule. This corresponds with 4,18 = 28,7 Kcal x 4 = 115 Kcal. The human body's average efficiency is 25%. That is why we multiply energy consumption by 4.
I conti adesso tornano...
Ciao,
Riccardo.
